Solild Wager wins 2018 Cary Grant Stakes at Delmar

Solid Wager

Thucydides observed that "Hope is an expensive commodity." And "The usual thing among men is that when they want something they will, without any reflection, leave that to hope. While, they will employ the full force of reason in rejecting what they find unpalatable." Thinking on that, we found a Solid Wager.

This seems to speak to common human trait. Examples are close. In horse race betting it is seen in the steps one takes to reject a reasonable (logical) favorite, or contender, and that hope that seems to attach itself to analysis of one of the other contenders. Especially a horse we may have in the past won with, nearly won with,  or been beaten by.
